All things AI
I won't use generative AI to create images, or LLMs like Chat GPT to write copy.

My policy is simple and so my explanation will be too. You are hiring me, as a real person, to write and create; so that's what I will do.

There are many powerful, impressive things that can be done by harnessing other forms of AI, but this is where I draw the line for myself, for myriad reasons.

I'm not sitting with a quill and parchment either, and many of us use artificial intelligence alongside our human stuff everyday, without giving it a thought. I'll ask photoshop to "understand" an image and remove its background. I'll put phrases into Google translate. I use a search bar not a printed encyclopaedia. But if something needs writing, I begin with a blank page not a prompt. If you'd like a newsletter template, I will look for inspiration, but not something ready-made. These days, you could that yourself anyway.

You're hiring me because I am a person, and my experience, judgement, understanding and imagination can't be replicated or substituted by AI. If you think they can, and that there is no difference between the two, I'm probably not the right partner for you.
