I won't use generative AI to create images, or Large Language Models like Chat GPT to write copy or do the work for me.

You are hiring me as a real person, to write and create; so that's what I will do.

There are many powerful, impressive things that can be done by harnessing other forms of AI, but this is where I draw the line for myself, for myriad reasons.

Like everyone else, I use artificial intelligence alongside my human stuff everyday, without giving it a thought. I'll ask photoshop to "understand" an image and remove its background. I'll put phrases into Google translate. I use tools like Canva, though not its specific 'AI' features. But if something needs writing, I begin with a blank page not a prompt. If you'd like a newsletter template, I will look for inspiration, but not something ready-made. These days, you could do that yourself anyway.

You're hiring me because I am a person, and my experience, judgement, understanding and imagination can't be replicated or substituted by AI. If you think they can, and that there is no difference between the two, I'm probably not the right partner for you.
